Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, that is now known as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier to be in being in the "child prodigy" category. However, for an Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and extended family, these traits came as a natural. Maureen entered into this nurturing house on August 17th, 20 in Ranelagh. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland, and also ran an Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons' was the second FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as a kid and was very proficient at them. Her ability to perform was a perfect complement to her passion for athletics. In the end, she received almost all of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances within her own country. By age 14 she was invited to the highly acclaimed Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
